MEET OUR FOUNDERS

In our roles as educators and students, we saw the same story repeated too often: a student reaches out for help, only to find that the waitlist is months long or the cost of care is out of reach. We founded The Mental Health Society because we believe that when a student has the courage to ask for help, the community should have the capacity to answer. By combining the professional resources of The Wellness Fund with the energy of our Leadership Programs, we are changing the timeline of mental health care in Houston, from years of waiting to immediate support.

JENNA ROSEN | FOUNDER, THE WELLNESS FUND

Jenna is a licensed school counselor and educator with nearly two decades of experience supporting high school students in Spring Branch ISD. She co-founded The Mental Health Society alongside former students Emily Morris and Morgan Matherne to bridge the gap between financial barriers and high quality mental health care.

Through TMHS's student leadership initiatives, including Racing for Wellness and the TMHS Leadership Fellows Program, Jenna has seen the transformative impact that occurs when students are trusted with structure, mentorship, and authentic responsibility. Her work is driven by a firsthand understanding of the consequences of untreated mental health challenges and a commitment to ensuring no student has to navigate them alone. Beyond her work with TMHS, Jenna serves on the board of Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA) and was honored with the 2025 Hannah G. Solomon Award from the National Council of Jewish Women for her dedicated leadership and advocacy.

MORGAN MATHERNE | FOUNDER, THE WELLNESS FUND

A finance major at the University of Georgia, Morgan brings a disciplined, solutions-oriented approach to TMHS as a co-founder and board member. She serves as the organization’s chief technology and systems lead, overseeing the development of fundraising infrastructure and scalable systems that allow the Society to grow effectively.

Morgan is currently designing a custom Wellness Fund application to provide real-time tracking for donations and community impact. Her leadership at TMHS is complemented by her involvement in selective business organizations at UGA, including the Atlas Business Society and Women in Finance. By bridging finance and technology with mission-driven leadership, Morgan ensures that TMHS operates with the data clarity and strategic execution necessary to expand mental health access across Houston.
